I've always loved attending cooking workshops. They are great source of learning new recipes, tricks & tips. Specially for beginners (in the field of cooking) like me. One of the biggest benefits of attending such workshops is that you get to see them (expert cooks) cooking live. This way, one can clear any doubts occurring in their mind, ask loads of questions, share their past experiences (read: blunders) of cooking that recipe before. :P
I have attended numerous workshops before. And this time it was for cakes & icing. It was an awesome experience :D
The following was included in a single workshop:-
- vanilla sponge cake
- chocolate sponge cake
- chocolate truffle
- pineapple cake
- chocolate decorations
- various tips & tricks regarding icing a cake.
I really love the way mrs. Anjli Prashant Agarwal teaches at CHOCOLATE RASOI. She explains the very basic reasons for various things, also stating Do's & Dont's of baking a cake.
From baking a very basic sponge cake to a pure delicacy like chocolate truffle cake, she nailed it all. The end product that we got after 3 hours of patience was bliss :)
I never have had such delicious & finger-licking pineapple cake & chocolate truffle cake before. It was just out of this world. Very very tasty. And the fact that we had it the moment she finished decorating it (read: it was super-fresh) enhanced its taste 10 times.
All in all, it was a delicious affair :P
This is how the cakes looked like:
~CHOCOLATE TRUFFLE CAKE~
Notice the chocolate decorations on the top. It may look a bit messy & not appealing :P
But that is because she taught us various designs with melted chocolate. And we ended up using all of those on a single cake :D
The white layering which you see on the cake is white-choco-ganache. Though the cake is covered purely with chocolate, she coated it with white-chocolate-Ganache. It tasted heavenly. It was just melting in your mouth :)
~PINEAPPLE CAKE~
Perfect caption for this cake would be, that it was 'super-se-upar' :D
No no, I'm not exaggerating. I'm stating what is true. This pineapple cake was the best, I have ever had in my 18 years of life ;) It was light, fresh, soft & it had perfect amount of sweetness in it. And ma'am had put healthy amount of pineapple chunks in it, unlike those confectioners who in the name of pineapple cake, don't put enough pineapple chunks & you have to search for pineapple pieces in it :D
I'm really looking forward to learn more and more things from mrs. Anjli .
Lets see if she organizes more workshops, I'll definitely be the first one to enroll ;)
Thanks for stopping by ^_^
~cheers!
